Logistics

 Logistics Dashboard Suite

This dashboard suite was created for a material handling company looking to provide a series of dashboards within their B2B software products. The dashboards were specifically catered towards microfulfillment customers. Microfulfillment is a distribution model that localizes the fulfillment facility to the customer base to reduce delivery lead times to one day or less, and is heavily used by grocery stores but is gaining popularity in other vertical markets.

For this project, I assisted with:

  • Requirements gathering

  • User research including journey mapping and persona creation

  • Whiteboarding and low fidelity wireframes

  • Final UI design*

  • Stakeholder validation of final design concepts

* The high fidelity styles used in the mockups adhere to a design system developed by a team of UX designers, including myself.

Research

Initial requirements gathering involved on-site user interviews as well as interviewing internal stakeholders about previous iterations of the software products to get an understanding of customer reception of previous products. Personas were also identified as a result of this process, as well as any technical limitations.

A total of 97 unique user needs were identified across all 8 personas. I compiled the user needs into a matrix so it was easy to sort, filter, and compare these needs across different personas and categories.

Small infographic elements were also created from the user needs statements to help stakeholders quickly get an understanding of the research results.

Wireframes & Designs

All designs were initially created in black and white, low fidelity wireframes. This process saves significant time over creating all designs in pixel perfect, color formats and encourages stakeholders to view the design as needing their feedback instead of already-completed.

Once designs were solidified with stakeholder feedback, color versions were created based on the internal design system.
